Okay, so I got caught in the land of "techno-geekdom" with my new cell phone/pocket pc. I had done so much research on which phone, headset, gps, etc. I wanted that when I got it I thought I would be ready to just use them, but they all still took some reading and playing with to get used to them. I finally got the programs I wanted loaded on to them and my bible, etc. programs transferred over to the pocket pc format from my old palm OS format(which took a little figuring out) and now everything is pretty usable. I still am figuring out new stuff all the time, but I have all the basics down. Then, once I got my phone all figured out, it was time to get Tim his new phone. The last few times, he has just gotten the same phone as I got and I just tell him how to use it. It's not that he can't figure it out, he just doesn't have the time to do it and it is so much easier for him this way. I finally got his new phone all done and explained as much as I could with his time limits. I think he has the basics down too.
We have done a few things besides me playing on the computer and with the phone. We finally got around to having our fondue party. We had chocolate and cheese fondue with bread, meat and veggies for the cheese and fruit, pound cake, and graham crackers with marshmallow fluff for the chocolate. Tara had not had fondue before that she could remember (I think we haven't had it for a couple years) and she loved it! We had a lot of fun and everyone got a little crazy (see the picture below). We need to do this every few months or so.
Our Fondue Party
We also have had snow a couple of times....and a lot of wind. I am happy to report that our roof survived the winds with very little damage (they were 100mph gusts) and our trellis in front of our house is secure with NO moving around.
The other day when I went to get Tim's phone Sammy and Tara were out front playing in the snow (it was ony 2 inches or so) and Sammy took my camera to snap some pictures of Tara. I posted one below.
Snow Day

We were back to school this week and I am trying to figure out how to get in as much as I can while I am still packing up for moving. I don't know how people do it who move a lot.
The house is coming along nicely and we are hoping to pass a Certificate of Occupancy Inspection next Tuesday. Today I went over and helped do a little bit of the smart wiring for our modems, phones, security, etc. I think I was a little too slow for the guy that is doing it, though. He works much faster than I do and he finished it up. The girls and I are going to go over tomorrow and Monday so we can get things cleaned up a little for the inspection. It doesn't really have to be cleaned, but we are hoping that the impression of it being clean will help. After we get our Cert. of Occ. we will only have a couple things to do (i.e. closet organizers, bathroom mirrors, etc.) and then we will be moving. I have decided I am not going to pack until we have it, though, so hopefully I will get to start next week.
In other big news...Alyssa is going for her drivers license test Tuesday. If she gets it, it will help me out BIG TIME! Tim is going to practice parallel parking and some other stuff with her tomorrow (I am terrible at parallel parking and do not want to teach it to her!). She really wants to get it and I am praying she will pass. It would be so nice if she could do some of the driving for taking herself and her sisters to Bible Study, AWANA, etc.
I will get more house pictures up soon. Tim has been burning fires to break in the pizza oven and it is so warm and cozy in the kitchen. They are tiling the island and I love how it is turning out. I will get finished pictures soon!
