Imagine Christmas

I didn't really get any great pictures of our Christmas production because it was dark, there was activity all around so it was difficult to get pictures, etc., but these were some of the few good ones people got.  I couldn't take any because I was busy cuing people, but Tim and my mom got a few.

Beth Moore Event

Our church, along with another local church, recently sponsered a Beth Moore Satellite Simulcast. Being the special events coordinator for our women's board, it was my responsibility to do some of the planning and preparing for the event.

The simulcast was a Friday night and Saturday morning and about 200 women attended the event. Besides the food, getting volunteers, etc. I was also asked to run the audio and video by our church's media person as she was going to be out of town. I felt that was a more daunting task than anything else. It went off well, though, although for Saturday morning we provided a continental breakfast and all the fruit I got from Costco was bad. I need to take the receipt back today and try and get my money back. We called Costco and they told us to go ahead and do that since someone had thrown away all the fruit and trays from the fruit.

I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures on Friday because I was too busy trying to make sure everything was okay. Also, I think my camera lens had a smudge on it because there is a funky blurry look to my pictures and after I figured that out and cleaned my lens it was gone. I wish I would have noticed it earlier, but sometimes it is hard to see that kind of stuff on the little LCD screen.

Our registration and welcome table for Saturday.

My Doings Lately

After the Women's Retreat, I was asked to take a position on the Women's Board as the Coordinator of Special Events. Initially, this was only going to be the Christmas Tea this year to start, but this year instead of doing our summer Bible Study, we decided to do some evening events so this fell under my leadership. Our theme for the summer is "Adventures" and we are using the Indiana Jones theme in conjunction with the release of the newest movie. Our first event has already taken place and was just a time of adventure and allowing the ladies to form relationships and learn.

Our speaker at the first summertime talk. You can see the little Indiana Jones "Mr. Potato Head" on the table. He was so cute, I couldn't resist getting him.

In the Worship Arts ministry in which I am involved, we have taken down the staging we put up a few months ago for the parenting series as well as the beginning of summer and our summer events. I finally got a picture of it before we took it down.

Our "Parenting" Staging

In case you couldn't tell (there were people who couldn't), there are kites and a tree up there. We tried to portray a child's drawing of a tree. Staging is much harder than it might look, but it's so much fun. Other things we do are to add other "arts" elements to the service (i.e. dance, drama, videos, music, etc.) that pertain to the sermon series.
