New Year's Eve Ramblings

Today we went to church...great sermon, our pastor is delving into a "beyond the baby Jesus of Christmas" 3 week study. Afterwards we came home and got a few things and headed back out because my oldest two had a leadership meeting for the Jr. High group they help with. Then I came home, got a few more things done and headed back out to take my 3rd dd to a friend's house to spend New Year's Eve and go to Costco and the fire station to take some stuff to Tim. At Costco I started looking for new cordless phones. Our current phones are not working all the time and we end up getting messages on our phone company's "voice mail" (something I am glad we have as well as the answering machine) and then I don't know it until I pick up the phone to call someone later. I had researched what was available at Best Buy/Office Depot/CompUSA, etc. in the circulars and on their website and found the same thing at Costco for about $110 less....score!!!! Of course, being the techno-geek that I am, it had to be one of the most complicated phones for the price out there. Oh well....I had fun playing with it and setting it up and now I am just waiting for it to charge 7 hours so it will work okay.

Also at Costco we had to get some snacks because the girls had invited friends over to watch movies and play Xbox games and we had to go to the fire station to drop off Tim's iPod (I'm not quite sure why he wanted it, but I think he is using it with his speakers as an alarm) and an eye compress "thing". The other day when we had terrible winds, it did something to his eyes and now they are really hurting and red. I told him if it isn't better by Tuesday, he needs to call the doctor. We then stopped by Trader Joe's to get some more "snacky food" and other stuff we needed and headed to my mom's to get some stuff she had received in a gift basket and would never use. Aside...always invite teenage boys to your house if you want to get rid of food. We came home and straightened up a little and got the new phones charging and semi-figured out.

Now the girls are watching "Cars" with their friends and Tara and eating snacks. I told them they all (except the one girl who is staying the night) have to be gone by 12:30pm. I think I may get ready for bed and read for a while. Tara is sleeping with me for the night. Of course, she just got her finger slammed in a door and is crying so we are putting ice on it (it looks quite bruised) and we will see how the sleeping goes.

Happy New Year Everyone!

Sounds like a busy day with a good ending! Since Holly and I stayed up late, Trevor slept in my bed with Robert. I was going to wake him up and make him go to his own bed, but hey, Holly's bed is quite comfy, so I just went to bed with her at 1. The kids think this is a wonderful treat!

Happy New Year Diann! I have not been able to read everyone's blog lately due to all of our company. I am slowly getting to read the blogs. I LOVE the pictures you took of the new house. The whole house is gorgeous!
