A Visit with my Sister--Day 1

So, it's taking a little longer to get back into the routine than I had anticipated.  Between the mountain of laundry that accumulated (mostly towels, but we were running VERY short and people started complaining), trying to get bookeeping set up for the business and visitors (the boys all came over Monday and now my sister is here for a week), I am anticipating I won't be back into my real routine until next week.  Oh well....I haven't seen my sister for about 1 1/2 years so I really do want to enjoy her visit.

Yesterday she flew in from Las Vegas where she was visiting our brother.  My mom picked her up at the airport because I had to take Tara to school at the same time and then Duncan needed to go to the vet for shots.  He now weighs 130 lbs, by the way and still has some growing to do!  After I came home, I finished doing some things around the house...folding towels mostly....and then Sammy and I met Shelly and my mom for lunch.  It was so fun to see her and have lunch with her.  I realize when we are together how much I really miss her.

After lunch I had a chiropractor appointment for my shoulder which I hurt somehow before Christmas and it wasn't getting better.  I have now only seen him twice and it is AMAZING how much better I am feeling.
After that Sammy and I came home and folded more laundry and I tried to catch up on the blog.  I knew Alyssa would be getting internet soon and would want to see it.
After I got off the computer, Jenna quickly jumped on to check email
Later, after homework with Tara, Tim and I got ready to go to dinner with my mom, her husband, John, Shelly, and my brother, Steve.  We went to a new steakhouse that is one of the casinos in town.  I had rack of lamb (something I don't get very often because Tim doesn't care for lamb) which was really good!  For dessert we shared a few, but Shelly and I did make sure we got Key Lime Pie which is both of our favorites.

After we got home (the girls' friend, Kyle, had babysat Tara because Sammy and Jenna were at Bible Study), I had a great surprise.  I got an email from Alyssa!  Yay!  She is thoroughly enjoying herself at Hume and has made lots of friends.  She actually starts orientation for work on Wednesday morning so I can't wait to hear how it goes.  I'm just so glad she can communicate with us now.
