School ended for my public school girls (the other girls have some stuff to finish over the summer). Life seems so much more relaxed without having to get people to school every day, which is really nice.
Jenna did have her piano recital and played Boston by Augustana and The Spinning Song. She did very well and we were so proud of her.
Alyssa and Jenna then went to high school church camp for a week. They left on Father's Day so we celebrated with Tim's dad before they left. Father's Day the rest of us headed across the state line to some friends' house who were having a big barbeque. They also have a pool and new puppies (a great plus for the girls) and we know their whole family as they are the people we tailgate with before 49er games and they have brought different members of their families to different games. The girls would have loved to bring a puppy home, but we really want to wait until Tim gets home from his LONG deployment to get one so it was not very realistic.
Otherwise we are getting ready to landscape (no real pictures until we get started) and working on finishing the house. I also was asked to head up the craft committee for our VBS, but was only there half the time (read next post for details). I spent quite a bit of time getting ready for that as we have between 250-300 kids each year. I have been on the committee for about 12 years and our last commitee chairman has moved on so I was asked to head it up. Thank goodness I had paid attention! It all went very smoothly (Thank you, God!) and I had an AWESOME committee.
Sorry about the lack of pictures, but I get carried away in the task sometimes and forget to take them.

I played the Spinning Song in a recital back when I was in high school. I still remember it by heart! I also played it in a piano competition too back in high school. I had taken piano lessons for 7 years . . I am so out of practice now.
I'm with you in wondering WHERE DID THE SUMMER GO?
