Starting the New Year--Jan. 2

I love New Year's Day! I love it for several reasons. First, it was one of my dad's favorite days. We would all get up in the morning and watch the Rose Parade, which was really cool for me because my grandmother lived not far from there and we used to pass where they film there sometimes. Also, we used to always have snacks and friends over to watch the football games. It's just a great memory that I have of my dad!

Secondly, I love a clean, new fresh start. I love a new calendar all the new activities on it and all the possibilities that the new year hold. You can see from my picture that my calendar already has quite a few things on it. I found this one a few years ago from flylady and love the big squares and the paper it is printed on because it is easy to use pencil with it. I make my own colored labels with Word with a different color for each person (plus one for "the girls" and one for "family"). It has made my life so much easier this way. I started this after I took the wrong girl to the orthodontist one time (they were all seeing the orthodontist at that time, in my defense). At the same time, I also got a PDA with a color screen and a program so my family is all color coded in it as well. My PDA doesn't change every year, but my calendar does and I love to fill it all out with our new activities, birthdays, etc.
