1)My makeshift window coverings. Our windows came from Poland and tip out as well as open up like they do in Europe. The same company makes the blinds that fit these windows and they are on their way, but won't be here for a little while yet. (We think the guy swam with them on his back and is now walking across the US with them now, it has taken soooo long) These are my window coverings for now, but I am thankful for them because I don't have to be hiding to get dressed or shower or anything. Tim and I put these up the first day we moved in. I will keep you all posted for when we get our "real" window coverings and take an after picture.
2)Bathroom and bedroom doors...Tim hadn't had a chance to put these in when we moved and has since done it. The girls had a sheet over their bathroom for a while. Interior doors are something I am very thankful for!
3)Cabinet and drawer pulls....the first few days it was a challenge to open the cabinets and drawers in the kitchen. We had to open up the cabinets from the bottom and could only open drawers if the cabinets were open so these are a wonderful convenience!
4)My sweet husband got me this set for Valentine's Day! We have this great view of the valley from the deck off our master bedroom and I wanted to be able to sit out there and relax.
5)I know...I know this looks like my other cabinet pictures, but this is my dishwasher. I didn't know they had made this until they came to install the drawer and cabinet pulls and told me it was almost ready. I just think it looks sooo nice!
6)My wireless internet! We have wired internet jacks all over our house, but sometimes I just like to sit on the couch and check email or do lesson planning for school. I was excited when our "smart wiring guru" came and hooked this up.
7)Interior door knobs...now these are something you might not even think about unless you build your own house, but I am sooo thankful for them. Do you realize how many thousand of door knob choices there are available? It is somewhat overwhelming! We both really liked these in the catalogue and I like them even better in person. They are really heavy duty and go perfectly with the Tuscan look we are aiming for.
8)A second refrigerator...I have always wanted a second freezer, but when Tim and I really thought it through, we thought having a second refrigerator/freezer would be our best bet. We may end up with another freezer, but for now I am just thankful for the space this provides. I can buy my four gallons of milk for the whole week and put the extras in there. Okay, we still ran out yesterday, but I have been avoiding going to the store because I am trying to eat what we had before we leave for vacation.
9)A shower door...yes, I was showering before this was installed, but we had bought a VERY cheap shower curtain because we knew this would be coming. My showers are so warm and cozy now...the downside, I tend to take too long of shower anyway and so I really need to pay attention how long I am in there.
10)My components for our stereo system, speakers and my little TV area niches are painted. We enjoy watching movies at home more than going to the theater most of the time (plus it is too expensive to take everyone to the movies). I enjoy being able to watch movies at home on my couch and if I fall asleep, well, I can finish it the next day. We have a great Blockbuster Mail-in membership and I have loved it!
11)A front door knob! We had a very inexpensive temporary door knob until Tim installed this yesterday. It had to be special ordered and took a while to get here, but I really like it. These pictures are of both sides of it and....drum roll...my key to the house! Can you tell we like the 49ers a little? This was not my idea, but my key will certainly be easy to spot.
I will definitely try to be better about posting my "Christmas presents" as I get them, but it has been fun recapping why I am thankful for each of these new things so far.

Whee!!! I LOVE looking at all the pictures. I'm so glad you took the time to take them and then post so we could all see. Excellent job being thankful. :) A great reminder to me, to be thankful for all those little things that I use everyday and take totally for granted.
Everything looks beautiful! Wow.
Doorknobs are actually something on our todo list for this year. We've gone through and completely redecorated every room in the house since we first moved in 15 years ago, but we didn't change things like light fixtures in hallways and doorknobs or doors. We did change lightfixtures IN rooms as we redecorated, but I somehow disregarded the hallway ones until last year... they stood out like sore thumbs compared to the redecorated rooms... NOW the doorknobs are standing out as eyesores (LOL). And.. the only reason I haven't already replaced them is because there are too many to chose from (LOL).
