Fixing Thanksgiving Dinner--Satuday Night
I had to stop by Trader Joe's to get some things on my way home from the Drill Meet on Saturday and we were totally exhausted, but we did it and came home. I hurried to get the turkey in the oven. Fortunately it was only 12 pounds and I wasn't stuffing it so it didn't take too long. I had brined it earlier in the day so I pulled it out of the brine, got it ready and stuck it in the oven. Then I got started on my stuffing. I make a stuffing with crusty sourdough french bread, italian sausage, artichoke hearts, parmesan cheese, etc. every year that my family loves so Tim wanted me to bring this. I got it ready and into the oven (I am thankful for two ovens in the rental house). While it cooked, I remembered that I had said I would bring gravy. I got the gravy stuff that I could ready and then went to pack for the weekend. When the turkey was done Tim carved it and I got the cooked stuffing into the crock pot. I usually put my cooked stuffing in the crock pot to keep warm for dinner and that way I can get it done early. I finished up the gravy, but we didn't get done getting ready until 11:30pm and I had to get up at 3am to try and leave by 4am. I was wiped out.
