The Game--Sunday

We got up early Sunday morning and left at 4:30am for the game. We were both exhausted, but we drank our coffee on the way and got there in plenty of time for tailgating. The weather was amazing and warm! The other family we tailgate with brought mini scones and more coffee for breakfast and I got the stuffing in the crock pot hooked up to the generator right away to heat up. We visited for a while and watched the early football game on TV while we made lunch. The turkey was in a foil pan and got heated up and we heated up the gravy all on the grill. Everything turned out great and we even got in the game early to watch Bruce and Denise's daughter perform in pregame (she is a cheerleader for the 49ers). We have been really bad this year about getting in to the stadium in time and Denise was determined we would.

The game was awesome and we even won! It was so funny because a guy in front of Tim (who is a 49er fan and yells at the coaches and players most games) told Tim he was clapping and cheering too loud and could he be quieter. We were shocked because isn't that the part of the point of "home team advantage"? This guy did move over in the 3rd quarter of the game.

This was Jerry Rice's retirement game and it was really neat to see him and so many of his old teammates there to support him. He even caught a pass from Steve Young! Denise got much better pictures than I did so I am hoping she will email the to me and I can exchange them for mine here.

After the game we went and said "hi" to Janelle and then went into the parking lot to visit and revel in the win some more. We stay there because it would take as long to get out of the parking lot as we sit there and we don't want to sit in traffic. Tim has a rule that we never leave a game before it is over so we always stay until the end and then wait outside.
